Notes from the Oven by Anes Kim is one of my favorite new reads. It’s all about learning how to bake with curiosity, humor and zero pressure to be perfect. Anes brings you into the kitchen with her, sharing not just the wins but the real, messy, wonderfully human process of figuring things out. Her writing is warm, reflective and full of great takeaways. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a baking companion who keeps it real and makes you feel like you’re in it together.
Been really enjoying The Secret Ingredient by Harrison Chapin lately. We got to chatting over lemon cake (as one does), and I’ve been hooked on his newsletter ever since. He’s taking iconic dishes from restaurants like Gjelina, Via Carota, and Misi and adapting them for home cooks - and doing it in a way that feels totally doable, not daunting. Highly recommend giving it a read!
I’ve followed Claire since the early days of Taisty Bytes and honestly couldn’t recommend someone more highly. Her writing is full of warmth, humor and has that wonderful ‘let’s figure this out together’ spirit. Claire's recipes are always delicious and approachable, and her vegan advice is friendly and totally non-judgy. If you’re a curious cook, gardener, or just love a good food story, this Substack is a must follow!
