Congrats on the new ‘spouts’ and an awesome looking lemon drizzle. Your mum must have been chuffed to be so well catered for: cake and cocktails! I am not a drinker but I did have a go at making rhubarb cordial using my pressure cooker (thank you Catherine Phipps) and it is really pretty good, so I can imagine a cocktail with rhubarb would be so tasty. Lovage is an ace herb, I use it a lot in the kitchen - my German friend was so excited to see it growing as her mum used it a lot.

But I am extremely jealous of your riverside area - otters, so awesome!

Haha thanks Lisa!! I know they’re only tiny yet, but I’m so bloody excited to see them growing! And the river is pretty awesome, isn’t it — we’re super lucky to have that. I’m going to do a post on showing the ‘secret’ area soon, once I’ve tidied it up a bit that is…

Ooo rhubarb cordial sounds delish. I didn’t know you could use a pressure cooker for that! There’s my lesson learned for today 😊 Is lovage an easy herb to grow? I had never heard of it before Mark wrote about it.

Yeah, dead easy. You get it in a little pot and then it is over 2 mtrs, 😝 Comes back every year for me with no care after the first year watering. I still get stupidly excited every time a seedling comes up.

Using a PC to make cordial was my big learning last year. Any gluts - blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry- can be used. So I thought why not rhubarb?
