Hello, Friends! As we wrap up another year, I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest New Year. Wherever you are in the world, I hope your days are filled with joy, delicious food and maybe a little time to relax!
This Christmas feels extra special for me because, for the first time ever, I’ve spent the season in the kitchen, rather than avoiding it! I started the year being completely useless in there - honestly, I could barely make beans on toast without supervision. But here I am, twelve months later, feeling completely at home in the kitchen. Funnily enough, it’s become my favorite space.
I’ve saved a whole plethora of recipes that I want to try over the coming week. And luckily, with friends and family visiting, I’ll have plenty of volunteers to help try my creations! I’ve made a few festive bakes so far:
Some slightly overfilled mince pies, that went down a right treat with some brandy cream!
Gingerbread biscuits! My piping skills still need some work, mind - but they still tasted delicious.
And finally, some sausage rolls! Which was definitely a bad idea - as now I know how easy they are to make, it’s going to be hard not to overindulge. Homemade ones really do taste bloody good, don’t they!
Before I sign off for the year, I wanted to say a huge thank you for being on this journey with me. Whether you’ve been with me from the start, or have just recently joined - your support, encouragement and friendship have made this year unforgettable. I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for us - I’ve got lots of exciting things planned!
Wishing you a festive season filled with love, laughter and plenty of delicious food. See you in the New Year!
With love,
Mark & Hiro! 🎄✨
I’m unreasonably proud of you and your baking achievements Mark. Hilarious, considering I’ve never met you. Better to say I’m thrilled for you. Christmas greetings to you, Hiro and loved ones.
I’m new to your page, but very glad to have found you.
