Gahhh you don’t know how much that means, Shell - thank you 🥹
I was worried that this Cook the Books series might be all consuming, but if anything - I feel it’s bringing on my baking, photography and writing in leaps and bounds!
The coconut ring around the school bun - incredibly satisfying. As usual, these all look delectable. I feel your pain on the oven checking out, but at least you were able to experiment (and learn a lesson) with the air fryer!
What a bake Mark, even with a oven fail you rose to the challenge. All of your buns looked delicious but I might have to lean towards the hibiscus bun when I place my order at you micro bakery.
I’m so delighted you liked the double espresso bun Mark. It does take a little extra time to make but it’s worth the effort. Thanks for sharing this and all your wonderful photos.
I'm like yum, that's my favorite. Then I read the next one and I'm like yum, that's my favorite. But then there's the next one and I'm like, jam? Yes, that's my favorite. And then there's praline? These buns are gorgeous, perfect, and I can't imagine how much filling your taste testers had on their face after eating. I love this Cook the Books thing you're doing!
POV you make me these school buns
Gladly! 😊
What beauties - and every week your photography gets even better. Brilliant
Shucks - thank you Mark, I appreciate that 😊🫶
Oh my gosh, that inside shot of those praline and double espresso buns Mark - you have truly mastered your lens!!
I loved this buns project, and I love you did such varied recipes with great flavours. 😋

It definitely is! 💯!

You’re the bestest - thank you 😄 I’m glad I continued with a second batch of the school buns, as I love how they turned out too!
Any that bloody oven, as good as she is, she’s only been on the job for 2 weeks!!
Your bakes always look so good! Definitely wish I was your roommate and could eat all of these haha 😄
Thank you for the kind words, lovely!
Haha I could do with the help eating them, Lisa! I’ve ended up leaving them on my neighbour’s doorsteps 😆
Haha lucky neighbors!

Thanks lovely - and I have to agree, the raspberry & hibiscus was out of this world!
You’ll be first on my list once they figure out of to teleport food across the globe 😄
Excellent, I’ll be right here.
The raspberry hibiscus photo of the open bun with the filling reminds me of a Chinese Sugar Bun and my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Ooo I’ve never heard of them before - I’ll have to give them a go too! Glad you like the look of them 😊
You did it, indeed! Those swirls, the rhythm you mention - I'm in awe!!!

School lunches here still look a lot like yours, I’m afraid. Amazing stuff, Mark. Well done not eating it all.
Ahh that’s not good - those poor children 😅
And thank you! Helped out by friends and neighbours, thankfully - or it would have been completely devoured by yours truly
